Wander WomenAdam And Iyar Elezrah
When Adam was six years old, thirteen-year-old Iyar told him that a snake had bitten him and walked away. He cried until his mother arrived and didn’t believe him when he told her why he was crying. Iyar was the older one who knew everything. A small episode between siblings that would grow into a dialogue between artists. The performance “Wander Girls” is a project created in collaboration between Iyar and Adam Elezrah. In the performance, there are two dancers and objects. On one level, it is a collection of scenes expressing an aesthetic of glamour, ideals, and iconic images, seemingly without a connecting story. On a parallel level – a pelvis, a mouth, and a heart that are not equal, the evil eye, tanks, helicopters, a caressing hand, a conflicted soul, a toothy smile, and lipstick. The work is an homage to the avant-garde/Dadaist ballet “Relâche” (The Show Was Canceled) by Francis Picabia.
